The pen is indeed mightier than the sword and a Montblanc pen may just be the mightiest. A true ambassador of class and luxury, Montblanc writing instruments are world-renowned and since long been associated with quality and prestige. The writing instruments have known to raise the bar of aspirations among its patrons and immortalize elegance, expertise and experience. No other brand enjoys the kind of reverence that Montblanc enjoys and it is no surprise that the company’s logo, i.e. the white stylized six-pointed star with rounded edges is one of the most globally recognized symbols.

The roots of the Montblanc brand can be traced back to the Schanzen district of Hamburg, where in the year 1908, founders Claus-Johannes Voss, Alfred Nehemias and August Eberstein worked on the first ever Montblac pen, the Rouge Et Noir. After that, the company enjoyed resounding success and in the year 1934, it’s changed its name to Montblanc-Simplo GmbH and then unveiled its first piston filler. Other two important dates in the company’s history are 1977, when Dunhill acquired it and 2006, when it celebrated its 100-year anniversary.

Currently the South African Rupert family, through the Richemont group, owns this prestigious brand. The celebrated Richemont group’s sister companies include luxury brands Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Chloé, and Baume et Mercier. The group has a strong belief in quality over quantity and is synonymous with luxury, originality for decades.

Montblanc celebrated its 100-year anniversary in 2006 with great pomp and show and one also saw the attendance of royalty, laureates, Hollywood stars and literary superstars. The brand also unveiled the stunning 100 Year Anniversary StarWalker Collection, that epitomizes Montblanc’s vision of discreet luxury and style. The limited edition centenary collection features a diamond shape with 43 facets, cut in the form of the Montblanc emblem and pays tribute to the summit of Mont Blanc. Offered in several versions, the Starwalker not only commemorates Montblanc’s 100-year anniversary, but also stays true to the essence of the brand philosophy.

Be it the centenary edition, or the John Lennon Edition, or even the more recent Princesses Grace de Monaco Monaco royal collection, the design team has ensured that every element that constitutes a Montblanc artifact is of immaculate quality. Montblanc writing instruments have captured the true essence of luxury flawlessly and are the quintessence of sophistication, superior craftsmanship and refinement. The writing instruments have been made to cater to the most exacting needs of penmanship and still be an heirloom for generations.
